Below, there are some Frequently Asked Questions to me in a more personal context. I don't really like that, as you may experience from the A's delivered with the Q's. Be advised...

Q. How come we don't see your girlfriend very often?

A. Because when I drag her around too much, she'll deflate and then I have to buy myself a new one...

----------------

Q. I've heard you travel a lot by public transportation. Why?

A. I can say that you don't have a hearing problem. With all the projects going on in my life, I just do not have the time to travel the large distances by myself AND doing work on them. The public transportation system in The Netherlands is - as some shortvisioned, non-forward thinking people might disagree - well developed and it's just an opportunity for me to get where I want to go AND get all the work done on schedule.
Just is the New York subway system or the Miami busnet. I just love it to use these lines! Headphones plugged in with the latest tunes, do a little sight-seeing... It's great!

----------------

Q. How come you don't sleep that much?

A. I have to keep the girls busy, eh...

----------------

Q. No, seriously. Why?

A. F*ck off...

Below there are some Frequently Asked Questions to me in general and about this website. You know why you should look here first before taking possession of my precious time

Q. Why don't you have a shoutbox or a forum on your website?

A. My experience with shoutboxes and forums is this:
1. When people shout in a shoutbox, they're usually hollering meaningless sentences only to manifest their state of euforia about me ("wow, you're good!"), the mixes ("wow, it sounds great!"), the site ("wow, great looking site!") or whatever the nerves in their brains get excited about ("wow, wow, barf")... I compare it with the behaviour of an audience you see in those famous American talkshows when the host or famous guest appears. Pointless, really...

2. When people post items on a forum which are site related, 7 out 10 times it are 'shoutbox-like' posts, thus are meaningless and sometimes annoying. The 2/10 times they are site related, but no one is reacting on the post and about 1/10 it's non-site related. Almost 10/10 of the 1/10 are posts of the illegal kind.

This kind of behaviour is unacceptable to me, as I use this site also to manifest my professional activities, thus all content on this site is based on quality. If there is the need to contact me to comment on the mixes or just to say 'hi' - and hey, I'm totally cool with that - , use the conveniently placed contact form.

----------------

Q. Why do you use Joomla as site developing tool?

A. I don't really have the time to maintain the content on this site. For that, I got a team of dedicated people doing that for me. Only, their experience with 'Big-ass' site development tools like Frontpage or Macromedia isn't sufficient enough. No offence, though. They accept this and therefore use this handy tool.

----------------

Q. What equipment do you use to create the mixes?

A. Mostly it are live recordings. These can come from clubs (various equipment), from the computer or from myself.

When I'm creating mixes on the computer, I use a combination of programs to get the best quality. For creating my own samples, I use the latest Cakewalk SONAR Producer Edition which is connected to my workstation (KORG Triton Le 61). When using other samples, or creating sample loops, I use the latest Fruity Loops Producer Edition. For combining songs and samples to create the eventual mix, I use the latest Adobe Audition (former CoolEdit Pro) or the latest version of Ableton.

When recording livemixes at my own place, I have 2 simple -almost disrespectful- truntables from DAP, the T2000. They're buggy and they're slow, but because of that they really add an extra dimension to the mixes. I really >HATE< those $1200 turntables which react in a nanosecond, have superb surround sound and have a button collection like a skyscraper elevator. People, they are NOT better because they have an aluminum look or have a twinkling christmas tree built-in. But hey, if you want to buy them, I'm not stopping you.

Furthermore I'm using (at the moment) two Denon DNS5000 CD players. THEY rock brcause their built-in christmas tree and button collection.

I use a Gemini FX7000 to mix all this musical violence together.
To record all this, the signal goes through several hardware components like a limiter, compressor, effect rack etc. These components vary a lot, so there's no need to name brands.

I also have a sampler and an effect module, but I don't really use them a lot...

----------------

Q. I've seen you spinning by one DJ alias at a club, and a few hours later with another name at another club? WTF?!

A. I'm using many DJ aliases for each style that I spin and even multiple for some styles. I've got my reasons for that. The most important is that I just don't give a f*ck about that kind of things. Second, I represent various labels with various backgrounds, interest and 'rules of emenation'. For example: one club doesn't hire a DJ from a certain label, because the club itself is owned by the competitor. Or when a DJ has become 'too big' of a name, they just let them be, because the club 'loves it's underground status'... I just want to spin my tunes and entertain the crowd at a moment I want. And don't take 'no' for an awnser easy...

But when you keep your eyes open on the site (e.g. are bloody smart enough), you'll get an idea about the aliases :D.
